Innistrad is the closest comparison to how we made Theros says @maro254 Just replace gothic horror with Greek mythology.

Innistrad was first time Erik Lauer and Mark Rosewater led development and design, Theros is the second.

Nylea is the god of the hunt. Guess what color she is.

Erebos is another of the five gods which adhere to the color wheel.

Meet Heliod in the pantheon of gods of Theros.

Theros will be an enchantment block that plays off building blocks in M14.

Not just "enchantment matters". Game play needs to part of the set. Found a way to take enchantments and bring gods to life.

Another theme of Theros will be Heroes -- Magic's take on classic mythological tropes.

What is the mood and tone of Greek myth? Adventure, achievement, accomplishment. Hero's journey.

Monsters are another theme. Heroes need something to fight. Awesome monsters.

"If you like Minotaurs this set is for you."

Three new mechanics. One for the Heroes, Monsters, and Gods. Five total mechanics in Theros. Including something people have been asking for

Three Planeswalkers; one of which is Elspeth with two new ones.

There will be a handful of gold cards but it is NOT a gold set.

There is a Future shifted card in Theros.

Theros is a large set, Born of the Gods is small, Journey into Nyx is small. Classic draft format.

Vorthos will LOVE this set. Jenna Helland is talking story and concept art. Elspeth doesn't want to be a hero.

Elspeth does not believe she will be called on to be a leader in a world of gods. Gods can take multiple forms and walk among mortals.

Gods live in Nyx.

Three major walled cities. Meletis is one of the cities.

More cities. Akros.

Setessa.

Theros is very dangerous land outside of the cities. Elspeth will fight a Hydra. And attracts attention of Heliod.

Bringing back Prerelease packs.

Quest 1 is Choose a Path. Special type of card called a Hero card. Acts like a Vanguard.

More Hero cards. Second step is at the Release weekend. Get a second hero card.

Step three is Face the Hydra. Play against a Challenge deck with special back and special cards.

Challenge cards. You can purchase the decks after game day

Everyone leaving the #MTGPanel will be getting one of the five Heroes cards months before Theros release date.

-Krakens are officially in Theros
-Nyx is the night sky, and home of the gods
-Nyx moves around each night
-Major cities in Theros are inspired by Athens and Sparta
-Thassa is god of the sea (and a merfolk)
-"Heroes' Path" prerelease information include hero cards which are won by completing quests
-M14 is likely to be the last prerelease without a meta gimmick, like guild packs or the Helvault
-No Elves on Theros, as they are replaced by Centaurs and Satyrs

- Minotaurs are the rampaging savages of Theros.
- Krakens were added because the film "Clash of the Titans" changed the public perception.
- Many existing creature types will be getting reworked to match the Greek flavor.
- Theros will have pre-release packs, similar to the Return to Ravnica block guild packs! You will pick your color, and receive a pre-release pack of that color.
- Complete the nine quests on the Hero's Path to earn Hero cards to use at Game Day.
- Both "Born of the Gods" and "Journey into Nyx" will feature similar Pre-Release, Release, and Game Day events.
Other new information:
- Plans for reverse redemption onto Magic Online in the works. Will likely be tied to pre-constructed decks first, as opposed to booster boxes and fat packs.
- New goal moving forward for Standard: Have competitive decks feature cards from all Standard-legal sets.
- Wizards sees growing competition from other online trading card games, such as Hearthstone and SolForge, and are looking to greatly improve Magic Online to stay competitive.
- Getting new players into Magic is very hard, because Magic is a hard game. Wizards wants experienced players to teach new players, as this is the best way to get new players into Magic.
- Wizards is currently considering the possibility of releasing Art Coffeebooks featuring art from Magic cards.

- the block has an enchantment theme somehow connected to the gods
- The set has gods, heroes and monsters. Each has a new mechanic tied to it
- Of the other two mechanics, one is a repeated mechanic brought back that strongly hits the flavor of Greek mythology; the second is a mechanic that we thought had potential but didn’t live up to it first time out - it has been mechanically retweaked and given a new name and flavor. The last mechanics is also tied to the gods
- There will be more legendary permanents than normal - not Kamigawa but above average
- The set’s tone is one of accomplishment and adventure
- Not a lot of tribal but minotaurs get some love
- Many nods to elements of the stories of Greek myth
- 3 planeswalkers - Elspeth and two new ones
- A few gold cards but mostly monocolored with a little monocolored theme
- A Future Sight card and the set does something we’ve never done before except on another Future Sight card.

You will get a hero card in your box at the prerelease. You will then be able to use that card with your deck when you fight the hydra deck at Game Day.

• Lors de l'avant-première Theros, chaque joueur choisit une voie de héros. Il reçoit alors un pack correspondant à cette voie qui contient :
  - un booster spécial principalement monochrome.
  - une carte promo qu'il pourra jouer lors du scellé
  - une carte de héros qu'il ne pourra pas jouer lors du scellé, mais qu'il pourra utiliser lors d'activités suivantes. Cette carte n'a pas un dos Magic.
  - cinq boosters Theros
  
• Lors de la sortie de Theros, un poster sera affiché par les organisateurs de tournois lors de la FNM et restera pendant tout le week-end. Ce poster contient une énigme. Les joueurs résolvant cette énigme recevront une seconde carte de héros.
  
• Lors de chaque Game Day, il y aura un combat contre un "boss", donc trois "boss" au total, un pour chaque extension. Celui de Theros est une hydre. Cette activité a lieu en plus du tournoi standard habituel.
  Le boss est représenté par un deck avec un dos spécial qui se joue de façon prédeterminée, avec ses créatures (représentant les têtes de l'hydre) et ses sorcery (représentant ses actions spéciales). Il est possible de l'affronter un contre un ou en groupe contre l'hydre, avec différents modes de difficulté. Les cartes de héros sont destinées à être utilisées lors de ce combat.
  Les joueurs ayant battu l'hydre recevront une troisième carte de héros.
  
• Chaque carte de héros contient un code à utiliser sur le site des planeswalker points. Les joueurs ayant complété les neuf quêtes seront listés sur une page spécifique. Les joueurs complétant la dernière quête recevront un cadeau.
