Tournament Format and Schedule

Format: Standard
Participation Fee: €18
Grand Prix–Brussels will feed Pro Tour–San Juan.

Registration and Schedule

* Friday, March 26: Registration 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
* Saturday, March 27: Registration 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.
* Saturday, March 27: Tournament begins at 9 a.m.
* Sunday, March 28: Day Two begins at 8 a.m.

The main tournament at Grand Prix–Brussels is open to Magic players of all ages.

Tournament Format

* Day 1: Standard Constructed
* Deck lists are required
* Players must use the same deck on Day 2 that they used on Day 1

Tournament Structure

* Modified Swiss-style (50-minute rounds).
* Rules Enforcement Level (REL) is Competitive (Day 1) and Professional (Day 2)
* If 799 or fewer players register for the event, all players with an X-2-0 or better record OR the top 64 players—whichever number is greater—will advance to the second day of the event.
* If 800 or more players register for the event, all players with an X-2-0 or better record OR the top 128 players—whichever number is greater—will advance to the second day of the event.
* The Top 8 players after the final Swiss round on Day 2 will advance to the Top 8 single-elimination playoff round.
* Top 8 playoff matches will be best 2 of 3, and have no time limit. (Players are still expected to play at a normal pace and complete playoff matches in a reasonable amount of time.)
* Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

Judges
The Head Judge of this event will be Kevin Desprez.

Notes

* 40K, Rules Enforcement Level (REL) is Competitive (Day 1) and Professional (Day 2)
* The Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and the Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document. Rules documents can be found in the DCI Document Center.
* Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.
* In the event that a player who wins an invitation to a Pro Tour stop at a Grand Prix has already qualified for an invitation, the invitation does not pass down under any circumstances. Previous qualification may be through a Qualifier tournament, through performance at a professional tournament, or by being an invited DCI player (valid upon the date of the official rank announcement for the appropriate professional tournament).



Tournament Byes

Byes will be given to players in the Grand Prix based on the following criteria (Byes are not cumulative throughout the season or year. Byes do not pass down under any circumstances. Players that accumulate multiple byes to a particular Grand Prix tournament receive only the bye for the greatest number of rounds):

Third-Round Byes

* Players with a Players Club level of 4 or higher
* Players with a DCI Total rating of 2050 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Total ratings published on March 24, 2010.
* Winners of Grand Prix–Brussels Trial tournaments.

Second-Round Byes

* Players with a Players Club level of 2 or 3
* Players with a DCI Total rating of 1950 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Total ratings published on March 24, 2010.

First-Round Byes

* Players with a Players Club level of 1
* Players with a DCI Total rating of 1850 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Total ratings published on March 24, 2010.

Trial winners
People who win a Trial event are awarded 3 byes in the Grand Prix that it feeds. Trial byes are not cumulative with other byes and do not pass down.


Public Events

Win cool Magic prizes in the raffle!
Enter in the free raffle and win Ryzwear Magic shoes, Path of the Planeswalker graphic anthologies, laptop bags, foil boosters, free draft vouchers or other cool Magic prizes. All you need to do is fill out the raffle form and drop it in the box before 15:00 on Saturday or 15:00 on Sunday. Winners will be announced during the next break between rounds.

Friday

12:00 Grand Prix Trial–Brussels (Standard Constructed – Single elimination)
(Entry fee €5; 32-player flights – single elimination; Games will begin as soon as 32 players register; The top finishing competitor of each 32-player flight will receive a 3-round bye at Grand Prix–Brussels; Prize pool 2 boosters PP; Registration closes at 18:00)

18:00 Super FNM (Worldwake Sealed Deck)
(Registration closes at 17.45; Entry fee €25; Prize pool 2 boosters PP; Product: 4 Zendikar boosters, 2 Worldwake boosters; Straight Swiss tournament (4 rounds) with no single elimination rounds)
All players receive a FNM promo card (whilst supplies last)
12 points receives 4 FNM promo cards & 4 Worldwake Boosters.
9-11 points receives 2 FNM promo cards & 2 Worldwake Boosters.
6-8 points receives 1 FNM promo cards & 1 Worldwake Booster.
FNM card choices are limited to one choice of each type available (no duplicates).

Saturday

Half Price Drafting
Participate in an 8-player single elimination draft tournament before 15.00 on Saturday and pay only half the normal entry fee.

11.00 8-Player Single Elimination pick up tournaments (Entry fee: Constructed €5/Booster Draft €15; Prize payout 5/3/2/2 boosters.)

The start of the last public events will be four hours prior to the estimated end of the main event but not earlier then 16.00.

Sunday

08.00 Registration for PTQ San Juan and Legacy tournament

08.30 PTQ San Juan – Extended – Winner will receive an invite and a flight to San Juan (Registration closes at 08.15; Entry fee €10; Prize pool 2 boosters PP; Top 8 can be held at a different location)

9:00 Legacy tournament – (Registration closes at 08.45; Entry fee €15; Prize pool 2 boosters PP;
1st Prize: €700 store credit from one of the single card dealers at the Grand Prix;
2nd Prize: €400 store credit from one of the single card dealers at the Grand Prix
3rd – 4th Prize: €150 store credit from one of the single card dealers at the Grand Prix
4th Prize: €150 store credit from one of the single card dealers at the Grand Prix

Travel Information

Brussels is both the heart of Europe and the European Union. Brussels Expo enjoys a central location; it is easy to get there by car, train or plane.

By car
Brussels Expo is easy to get to by car, no matter where you set off from. Once you are on the Brussels ring road, take exit 7bis or 8 and follow the signs marked 'EXPO'.

By train
Brussels is easily accessed by high speed trains: Eurostar (from London) and Thalys (from Paris, Amsterdam or Cologne) both stop at the Gare du Midi. From there, take the orange Metro 2 line (direction "Simonis") to "Clemenceau". At "Clemenceau", take the 1A Metro line (direction "Roi Baudouin") to "Heysel". Starting from the Gare Centrale, take the direct yellow 1A Metro line (direction "Roi Baudouin") to "Heysel".

By air
When arriving by airplane, Brussels International Airport (Zaventem) is a mere 15 minutes away from Brussels Expo by highway. You can take a taxi directly to the Expo, or the train to the city center to check into your hotel. The "Airport City Express" leaves four times an hour (between 6 a.m. and midnight) and takes only 20 minutes.

By car

Si je me motive à faire le GP (ouais, j'en suis à ce point niveau Magic en ce moment Razz ), on peut recréer une ambiance d'auberge de jeunesse dans mon petit 30m² en plein centre de Bxl si jamais à 1/2h grand max en métro... J'ai un convertible et quelques matelas de sol qui pourraient faire l'affaire.

C'est ça qu'il y a de bien avec Jund, c'est du pile ou face ! Tu jettes un dé, tu vois que tu commences ? C'est gagné, pratiquement aucun deck ne pourra battre ton T2 leech, T3 blightning et ton T4 bloodbraid dans blightning. Tu ne commences pas ? Là ça se complexifie, tu as de bonnes chances à la première, mais à la 3e, tu devras faire face aux tectonic edges, au flashfreeze, au T2 rhox War Monk pendant que tu poses ton 2e land engagé, au T3 wrath, au T4 ou 5 sphinx ...

Et puis le truc vraiment sympa avec Jund, c'est le mirror qui te fait bien sentir que tout est une question de chatte à la cascade ^_^ (oui tu peux faire jouer tes "skills" et jouer les mêmes menaces que lui pour éviter qu'une pulse te désavantage de trop, c'est vraiment super !). Et vu que ça sera encore 30-40% du field à Bruxelles, je te conseille de jouer exclusivement du mirror si tu n'as pas le temps de te préparer (et d'avoir une version qui ouvre en deux le mirror si tu veux faire jour2).

Si je trouve des Baneslayer il y a des chances que je joue (Boss) Naya et je pourrai prêter Jund en entier. Mais pour ça faut qu'il y ait des âmes charitables qui veulent bien me prêter leurs précieuses cartes :O

samedi je serai pas là donc ça m'intéresse pour le gpt du 20 Smile
edit : au pire, je peux aussi prêter Boros en entier à Quentin (Jund si je joue Naya, Boros si je joue Jund)
